Weekly Updates

Greetings Le Phare Families

This is the launch of our first weekly message!

Halloween is around the corner! On Tuesday, classes will have their own choice of celebration activities happening throughout the day. This year some classes are choosing to have costumes as an option. This is a class based decision, and you will be provided with further details from the homeroom teacher.

Either way, we are asking that students grade 1-5 wear orange and black on that day to celebrate the occasion. Students in Kindergarten will have an option to wear a costume over their clothes or dress in orange and black colours. If you have any further questions please contact your child’s homeroom teacher.

Our new portable/cottage was delivered this week.  Mme Gazeleh and Mme Elliott’s students are very eager to be in their new classroom. Classroom transition should happen in another week however this is dependent on our hardworking design and construction crew.

Breakfast Club is due to start in November and we are looking for parent volunteers to help run this very popular program.  Some of the responsibilities are prepping the food, serving and interacting with the students, and clean up.  The hours for breakfast club volunteers are 7:45-9:00 AM.  Typically, we need 10-15 volunteers to help run the program regularly including back-up/part time assistance. Please contact Naomi, our Breakfast Club Coordinator if you are available to volunteer.  (email:webnaomi@gmail.com )  Thank you in advance for sending your Breakfast Club donations.  It is never too late to send your voluntary donation.

Mazzola is now up and running! Please see the email sent to families for the menu information (Nov-Dec) and order form. Mazzola runs weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays.  A big thanks to School Council for bringing this lunch program back again this year!

This is also a friendly reminder that school begins at 8:30am. Being on time is important for students to begin their morning routines and hear important information on what is happening in their day.

Feel free to contact Julie Morris (Principal) or Juli Gordier (Vice Principal) if you have further questions, comments or ideas!

Hope to see you at Monster Mash!
