Kattam!

We are excited to welcome the performer Kattam to Le Phare school. Kattam – who is part Quebeçois and part Moroccan – first trained in classical music, studying piano, singing and percussion. His keen interest in world music and travel has served as the basis for many musical experiences abroad. He studied conga, timbales and drum in Havana, djembe and doum doum in Guinea, and derbouka in Morocco. He has also studied dhol and Indian tabla. Drawing on his extensive experience with youth and family audiences – with close to 200 shows per year – Kattam created his solo performance. The show has been successfully presented in performance venues across Quebec and Canada (theatres, festivals, elementary schools, daycare centres).
A heartfelt 'thank you' for the generous donation from one of our families for this amazing performance!
There will be one show for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students at 11:00 and a second show for Grade 2, 3, 4 and 5 at 1:00.
