E-News May 23, 2025
Despite the short week, LePhare was brimming with diverse learning experiences this week. Stepping into the PODS or the schoolyard, you would have encountered everything from scientific inquiry to the melodies of ukuleles and recorders, the playful energy of skipping (and more skipping), focused EQAO preparation, and the dynamic interactions of collaborative learning.
EQAO: Next week our grade 3 students will be participating in the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) assessment. This provincial assessment helps us understand how well students are meeting the Ontario curriculum expectations in reading, writing, and mathematics. The EQAO provides valuable information that we use to support student learning and inform our school improvement plans.
To ensure our Grade 3 students are set up for success, we kindly ask that they arrive at school on time each morning next week, having enjoyed a nutritious breakfast. Being punctual and well-nourished will help them feel their best and ready to showcase all their hard work!
Yard Project at LePhare
Our very industrious School Council have been hard at work planning a very cool outdoor gardening learning lab. They are building vertical garden panels where students can plant seeds and watch them grown. Now that all the plans are finalized, the labour will begin this weekend. If you are in the neighbourhood, you may see people hard at work digging holes for the supports to be installed!
Thank you to everyone who has had a hand in this very exciting project!
Jump Rope for Heart
Momentum is building for our annual Jump Rope for Heart event! Please follow the link to find out how you can donate!
We are encouraging some friendly competition to see how much money LePhare can raise to support this worthwhile cause. We hope these incentives encourage students to fundraise for this worthwhile cause and match our total from last year of $3000!
