Terry Fox Run - September 26

It was a perfect day for LePhare to participate in the Annual Terry Fox Run/Walk. Students ran or walked for 45 minutes in honor of and in memory of family, friends and of course of Terry Fox. Staff and students proudly continued the legacy of one of our country’s greatest heroes.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the LePhare community for their efforts and generosity in raising $2,345 in support of those touched by cancer.  Students surpassed their goal of $1500!

Walk A Block

Did you know that walking all or part way to school helps create safer school zones by reducing vehicle congestion? If you live too far away from school to walk the whole way, consider parking 5 to 10 minutes away from the school and walking the rest of the way. Take this small step to help make school zones safer for everyone! Download your Walk-a-Block map today!

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

On Tuesday, September 30 students and staff will mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. This is a day of mourning and remembrance for Indigenous Peoples, and offers an opportunity to reflect and honour survivors, their families, and their communities. Activities may include reading stories, listening to music and creating their own ‘orange shirts’ as a way to celebrate Indigenous culture. Students are encouraged to wear an Orange Shirt to acknowledge the day.

LePhare ES Photo Day

Wednesday, October 1 is photo day for LePhare. Students will have individual photos taken. There will be a re-take day scheduled for later this fall for any absent students.

Meet the Educator

Mark your calendars for a Meet the Educator opportunity on Thursday, October 2nd, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. We look forward to welcoming students and their families! The purpose of this event is for parents to see their student's classroom and meet the educators. Please keep in mind that this is not a curriculum information session or a time to discuss your student’s progress.

Freezie Sale

Freezies will be available for purchase next THURSDAY, OCTOBER 2. Freezies are $0.50 each.  Please send only enough money for one freezie per student.  Proceeds will go to purchase supplies for our sewing club.

Extra Curricular Sports

Inter-school sports teams are available for Grades 3 (for some sports), Grade 4, and 5 students who successfully complete a try-out.

To ensure all parents have easy access to information, our coaches will use a dedicated Google Classroom for sports communications. This platform will hold all event details and required participation forms. Students will bring home the Google Classroom code when a new sport season begins. We're confident this change will help our sports program operate more smoothly and keep everyone informed!

PD Day Monday

Please note that school is closed for all students on Monday, September 29th. This includes the Extended Day Program (EDP). Educators will be attending a Ministry Professional Development (PD) Day dedicated to Literacy, Numeracy, and Well-being.
